This civic initiative aims to integrate all people who care about reducing noise emitted by the S2 route (Warsaw Southern Bypass) running through the Warsaw-Wawer district, among others.

The bypass has significantly improved road communication in our district, but the lack of appropriate acoustic protection along the POW, contrary to the earlier announcements of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) and environmental decisions, makes the noise generated by vehicles in many places unacceptable.

There is also a reasonable suspicion that the noise emission generated by traffic in the indicated area already exceeds the permissible standards specified in the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment of June 14, 2007 on permissible noise levels in the environment (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2014. item 112) for single-family housing development areas. In some sections of POW, residential buildings are located in the immediate vicinity of the route and do not have any acoustic protection.

There have been numerous publications on the harmful effects of noise on human health. It is indicated that noise is one of the stressors, it can cause irritability, conditions of chronic fatigue, sleep disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and decreased concentration. Research is also conducted on the influence of noise on the development of cancerous diseases, as noise also greatly weakens the human immune system. The organism weakened by noise is more susceptible to infections and the development of various diseases, including cancer.

Taking into account the need to provide the residents of the Wawer District with a safe acoustic environment, it is necessary to reliably measure the noise level on the S2 South Bypass of Warsaw, running through the following housing estates: Aleksandrów, Radość, Miedzeszyn, Falenica, Nadwiśle and to minimize the generated acoustic nuisance to levels safe for humans.

Please take an active part, write posts and comments, propose all kinds of activities that can help to improve noise protection for the residents of Aleksandrów, Falenica, Miedzeszyn, Nadwiśle, Radość and all neighboring villages and estates affected by noise due to the lack of noise barriers.

The road to the goal will be winding and bumpy, so we must be integrated and ready to act.
